GOLD DREDGING.
The Grey River Exteaded is reported to have obtained 20ozs of amalgam for last week's work. The dredge can bottom where at present working, but when it prooeeds farther it will be necessary to lenghten the ladder. A large number of townspeople journeyed to Maori Gully this forenoon to be present at the formal starting of the dredge. The machine has been working steadily since Saturday, but no return can be expectod before Saturday week. Dividends have been paid by West Coast dredging companies since the besinning5 inning of operations as follows : —Nelson reek, 63; Grey Biver, 2j 6d; Buller Junction Is 6d.
Our special correspondent at Dunedin telegraphed this morning as follows: The Ponsonby Gold Dredging Co,, (another of the Cook and Gray group) has decided to voluntarily wind up. Fifteen guineas is to be paid to the liquidator with an additional sum if no further call is involved.
