At the Supreme Court to-day the hearing of the charge against Prank Clark of having stolen £6 15s from the proprietors of the totali3ator at the Masterton races was continued. The jury returned a verdict of not guilty, with which Edwards expressed his concurrence and accused was discharged. There was some applause in Court at the verdict. The Chief Justice this afternoon heard the divorce suit brought by Eleanor Bloxara against Henry Bloxam. The parties were married at Dunedin in 1892. Five years ago the petitioner was deserted by her husband. A decree nisi was granted. Electric Cars. The Mayor stated to-day that he expected the news system of electric cars will be running in the city in a couple of years. The Mayor indicated that the Council had been approached by a number of syndicates anxious to carry out the work, but had determined to adhere to the previous decision to carry o'it the installation by the municipality.
The " Royal Artillery." Wellington, This Day.
A London military paper just received states that the King has agreed to the New Zealand Artillery Corps being known in future as the " Royal Artil'ery."
