Greymouth Evening Star. AND BRUNNERTON ADVOCATE. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5, 1901. A MONTH'S RETURNS.

The month's dredging rtturns are now available and afford a very fair indication of the prospects of an industry yet in its infancy. November returns are as follows:

The list gives us 22 dredges, working 83 weeks and returning 2,351 ounces of gold, This gives an average of 107 ounces per dredge. Taking it by the weeks we have an average of 28 ounces Gdwts per dredge per week. As 12 ounces per dredge per week will cover all working expenses, it will be easily seen what a fair prospect is before the industry. A few more duffer claims will doubtless require to be weeded out, but sufficient has now been seen and proved to show that gold dredging on the Coast is going to be a lucrative investment.
