At a meeting of directors of the Garden Gully Gold Mining Company, Limited, held on Monday, November 25th, tenders for driving the low level tunnel in the Company's mine were opened. There wore eleven tenders received and that of J. Penrose and party was ac- I cepted. The contract has since been signed, and work begins at the claim today. It is estimated that the contract will occupy eight or nine months, four men being employed constantly. The distance to be driven is about 550 feet and the tunnel will be„of such dimensions as to effectually serve as a working base for future operations.
