ADDRESS TO MR YOUNG HEE.
Mr Young Hee after seventeen years' residence in our midst, and who during that period since he left school has been in Mr Hannan's office, was last night presented with an illuminated addresß. The occasion was Mr Young Hee's projected departuro for China. Mr Hannan who was in tho chair, made the presentation. In doing so, ho paid the recipient a high tribute, his ability, integrity, and industry being undoubted. He felt convinced that in his new home he would carvo out a name for himself. The address was as follows:
To Young Hee, Esq. Dear Sib—lt is with deep regret that we loarn you arc about to leave us and return with Mrs Young Hoo and family to your nativo land. Before allowing you to depart from our midst, we beg to testify that during the 17 years you have lived amongst us, you have, by your straightforwardness and honesty, proved yourself a worthy citizen and gained the respect of tho while community. In leaving us you carry with you our highest esteem and best wishes. May health and prosperity attend you and your family in your now sphere is our earnest prayer." Then followed the names of the Mayor, County Chairman, and members of both bodies.
Mr Young llee, in acknowledging the address, expressed his gratification at the tribute showed to him. His 17 years experience in Greymouth had been an exceedingly pleasant time and he felt much regret at leaving.
Mr Young Ileo leaves per Haupiri on Monday next. -^0 The address was artistically illuminated, the iloral portion by Miss Glceson, and the text by Mr Warnes.
