BRUNNER ADVISORY BOARD.
A meeting of the Brunner Advisory Board was held at the Public Trust Office yesterday afternoon, there being present Messrs Matheson (chair), Cimpbell, McLean, Creagh, Russell and Byall.
A statement of accounts was received from the Public Trustee showing a balance to credit of the general fund of £19,141 14s 3d and contingency fund of £3,124 4s Id.
Applications were made by several widows for a continuance of the allowances now paid to them on account of children reaching the limit age, viz 16 years, but as the Public Trustee has ruled that he has no authority to order the Trust Dept to continue the allowance beyond the age of 16 years, no recommendation was made.
A grant of £o was made to a widow to enable her to send her son, who is suffering from a lung complaint, to a drier climate. With regard to the renewal of the allowance now paid to those who lost sons in the disaster it was decided to recommend the Public Trustee to continue these for a further period of 12 mouths, with a slight alteration iu the rate—four to receive 10s per week, ten at 7a 6d per week twl (jag fit 6s per week«
