In the full court the judgment in the case of the man charged with stealing a letter, wherein the point was taken as a crime committed against a .Federal Department the State had no jurisdiction. Justice Stephen held that the State Court had no jurisdiction. Justices Owen and Simpson, on the other hand, held that the State law appertaining to Federal territory remained in force till specially superseded by a Federal enactment.
