PONSONBY GOLD DREDGING COMPANY.
An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in the Ponsonby Gold Dredging Company was held at Dunedin on Monday, Mr W. G. Somerville being in the chair. The Chairman said that at a previous mooting it had been decided to ask vendors, through Mr Cook, if they would forgo their vendors’ interests. A reply had been received from Mr Cook stating thac so far as he personally was concerned he would be agreeable to forgo his shares, but lie could not speak for the others, who would require to be approached by the company, Now, the company only knew Mr Cook in the matter, and as these shares had never been allotted he took it to mean that in the event of liquidation Mr Cook’s affirmation that he would not claim his vendor's interest would apply to the whole issue, inasmuch as Mr Cook himself was the only visible representative of that interest, Mr Cook had not paid his allotment money on the 1000 contributing shares held by him. All arrears of allotment and application money had been handed to the company’s solicitors fpr collection. He would move the resoliiion on the sheet—“ That the Ponsonby Gold Dredging Company go into voluntary liquidation,” the appointment of a liquidator to be left over till the next meeting convened to confirm the resolution. This was carried.
