GREYMOUTH JOCKEY CLUB.

The regular meeting of the Greymouth Joceky Club was held at the Club Room last night. Present Messrs Petrie (chair) McKay, M’Oarthy, Ponsomby, Walton, Gieseking, Yarrall, Sheedy, Claugbsey, Bigntll Hannan, Doogan, and Smith. An application by the Westport Club to remove the disqualification from W, H. Fergus, was refused for the present. The disqualification was imposed by the Westport Club for two years, and it was felt by the Greymouth Metropolitan, that it would be ridiculous to remove it [before any race had been held since the inflio* lion.

Jas McGra l h applied for a trainer’* license. Granted conditionally upon receiving a good report from Christ* church, where he came from.

Fred Collins applied for a jockey's license. Granted conditionally upon statement being verified.

George Moore was granted a trainer’s and jockey’s license, and William M’Oon. key, a trainer’s license.

Wm. Berdini was granted a jockey’s license under the same conditions as last one.

D. L. Maury applied for a license, but it was not entertained being informal. A gentleman’s riding license was granted to Wm. O’Rorke conditionally.

Harley and Co. applied for a share of the Club’s auctioneering. Resolved that Moss and Co. sell rights for booths on. December 14.

Resolved that Mrs Kane be appointed caterer, the chairman, Mr Yarrall, and Secretary to sec to necessary arrangements.

Resolved that tenders be called for music for a band of 15 performers, the acceptances to be left in the hands of the Chairman, Treasurer, and Secretary.

Mr Walton gave his report from the Conference, showing that no attempt had been made to centralise the distressed trainers’ and jockeys’ funds, but that a recommendation as to insurance had been approved of and would be brought before the conference in Ju y next. Eesolved to place a photo of the late Mr Nancarrow in the stewards’ room.

No alteration is to bo made in paying out on one horne only on the totalisator, the opinion of those who visited Christchurch being averse to two dividends.
