A writer in the Otago Daily Times who si.na himself 'Shareholder' writes as fol ows!—Sib,—l am a large shareholder i i a Lumber of dredges, but the way the affairs of the Pactolus Company are conducted, to my mind " dings a'". While at work she most consistently gets her 30, 40, and 50oz per week. Still no sign of a dividend. I, in common, with other Otago shareholders, cannot understand how that is so. The statement issued by the directors some time ago shadowed forth the getfia rof another dredge. We think we should first get some of our money bf ck to enable us to live. Mosquito Dredge. Mr Chas. L. Watt, engineer for the Mosquito Gold Dredging Company (Ltd), leports as follows:—All machinery placed and fixed in position ; boiler under steam. Winches finished and steam pipes connected to boiler. All lines 'wound on barrels. Elevator bottom tumbler and driving gear in position. Ladders swung with rollers in place. Screen and gearing fixed; centrifugal pump, condenser, and sparge pipe bolted up; all gearing in place; steam and exhaust pipes put in position ready for jointing; elevator ready for lifting ; housing nearly finished. Should be ready to commence dredging in two weeks' time.
