(To the Editor.)

After waiting a week and receiving no reply, ifi was resolved to telegraph to the Hon the Premier which was promptly answered. At a meeting held last Saturday night, great indignation was expressed by those present at the fact that our member had thought so little of our interests that he had not answered our telegram. It is to be hoped that some explanation may be forthcoming. I am etc., — W. Barrow, Chairman of Meeting.
[lt is but fair to state that during the period named Mr Guinness was acting as Speaker and Chairman of Committees, and was completely knocked up with work. Mr Seddon has half-a-dozen secretaries to attend to such matters.— Ed., E.S.I
