The Chamber of Commerce Conference adopted resolutions advocating the postponement of the operation of the Kanaka Bill for a reasonable time pending a trial of the Government bonus proposals in connection with the sugar industry, and condemning the provisions of the Interstate Commission Bill relating to the carriage by sea. favouring the Penny Postage throughout the Commonwealth and Empire, and a federal tariff which would not hamper natural industries.
