THE GREY VALLEY WORKERS’ UNION.
The half-yearly meeting of the Grey Valley Workers’ Union was held on Saturday, 2nd instant, when the balance sheet showing a credit balance of £94 8s 4d was adopted, the meeting holding the statement to be very satisfactory. Messrs Dixon, Woollett, and Smith were elected Committeemen in place of Messrs Beynon, Woollett, and Eoutledge who had resigned J. Southward was re-elected Check Inspector in conjunction withH. Coppersmith.
The Check Inspector’s report for the month was read, stating the whole of the mine was free from gas and in good working order. Eesolved that the nomination of a member for the Arbitration Court be left in the hands of the Committee. A hearty vote of thanks was ordered to be recorded to the Committee appointed to draw up the new industrial agreement for the ensuing twelve months for the successful termination of their efforts.
An agreement had been come to without the aid of Conciliation Board or Arbitration Court. This is three successive years industrial agreements have been in force in Brunner without the aid of Board or Court.
