KING’S BIRTHDAY SPORTS.

“It depends upon the day" is an expression we often hear, and to a considerable extent the success of the King’s Birthday Sports to be held in Victoria Park on Saturday depends on the weather. If it is fine wo anticipate the largest gathering yet seen inside the closure. The programme is a very liberal and attractive one; the entries are numerous, while the best evidence that the handicappers have done their work well is evidenced from the fact that almost every competitor believes he can win. The management has made very perfect arrangements to ensure punctuality and prevent tiresome delays. The acceptances are due to-night, also the nominations for the school events.
