ADA DELROY COMPANY.

When we get a real live entertainment at Greymouth big houses can be depended on. Hence it surprised no one to see a crowded audience last night, who at almost every fresh turn expressed their delight at the amusement afforded. Taken as an entertainment given for amusement and edification, the Company must be considered as fully sustaining all that the "bills" declare of them—and a company that does this is really good. The entertainment is of the variety kind —but a very good variety kind—amusing, interesting, and is incomprehensible. Commencing with a musical milange, in which artiste skill was brought promptly into play, the audience were next treated to an exhibition, showing how the human features can be altered. Mr Edward Ford is not only a perfect mimic, but his facial contortions are most extraordinary. He depicted many phrases in life with marvellous exactness, causing ronrds of laughter by his many oddities. Miss Lita in her vocal selection found many friends, while a farce specially written for the company caused roars of laughter. The seeond part of the entertainment was. even better than the first. A series of bioscope pictures were excellent, then followed a clever terpsichorean creation—a beautiful creature in many folds of vapoury-like garments, who waltzed round in graceful form, now a butterfly, then a lilly, a shell and many other charming post ares, all artistic, and although the full effect was not obtained owing to one of the lights breaking down, the performance was nevertheless a charming and entertaining one. For the musically inclined the finished performance of Miss Leslie upon a musical instrument—:the xylophone—was a feast. The last of all was the baffling exposition of the powers of the white Mahatma. We don't pretend to say where the vision or mystical lore is obtained from and the management do not pretend to posses any supernatural power, but all the same the the, the, whatever it is, is there. Wo cannot vouch for all the tests but some of them were not only beyond- all disputes, but without the shadow of a "fake". This lady's entraordinary powers has baffeled the scientific world. It is possibly capablo of explanation, but science has hitherto failed to supply what has by some been regarden as a "sixth seme". To-night aa entire new programme will bo introduced including an adaptation of Haggort's "She" in the fire of life scene.
