In the Factories Bill as amended by the Labor Bills Committee of the Council the defied dor* of male as a worker, in the iaternrotation clause, has been altered to mean every male over tho age of sixteen ■years instead of eighteen, as m the Bi 1 d sod in the Lower Bouse, “woman - has be a interpreted to mean any female irrespective of age. It is reported that the reason the schedule was struck out was that the Committee by a bare majority bad refused to include woollen mi'ls in the exemptions.
