Acceding to E. G. Jellicoe’s petition, tbe King will release on January 11th Trooper Tasker, a New Zealander, sentenced to three years in July for sleeping at his post.

Portescue encountered Miller’s commando on the 27th north of Balmoral, and there was a running fight all day. Four Boers were killed and 54 taken prisoners.

Two Yryburg rebels were executed and 19 sentenced to heavy terms of imprisonment.
