A compulsory order has been made winding up the London and Globe Finance Corporation. Famine in China. A terrible famine prevails in the eastern province of Russia. Submarine Boat Accident. The Daily Express states that the French submarine “ Triton ” was testing her plunging apparatus at Cherbourg when she sank rapidly and struck the bottom and was injured. She commenced to fill but rose again with difficulty. The crew had a narrow escape and were terrified. Colliers’ Trouble. The colliers of South Wales have laid the pit idle for three days in order to maintain the prices. This effected a reduction of half a million tons of the output. The owners are prosecuting individual mines, also the Mines Federation to test the legality of such action. The End of the Royal Tour. Tire Ophir with the Royal party on board is off Weymouth. Eeieived this day a", 9 7 a m. French Railways and Budgat. Paris, October 31. The French railways are asking the Government for two millions sterling to make up the deficit. Dividends, it is expected, were general. The Bubget shows a deficit of four millions sterling.
A Disloyal Corporation. London, October 31
The Dublin Corporation by 49 to 9 voted the Freedom of the Cty to McHugh, the member for North Leitrim. He was recently released after serving a sentence for criminal libel.
A scene followed, the Unionist members of the Corporation declaring that the freedom was not intended for lawbreakers.
