Want of Confidence Motion. lieceived this day at 9 BO a m. Perth, October 30. The Leader of the Opposition has given notice for a direct want of confidence motion for Thursday. The House adjourned. Railway Management. The report of the Board appointed to enquire into the charges against John Davies, general manager of the Railways, completely exonerates him. It states that Davies’ acts were performed by Ministerial authority. The Commonwealth Tariff. Melbourne, Oct 3C, Barton says that a good many matters have to be considered before the Canadian suggestion of the tariff arrangements can be considered. The most important would be %; effect such a preference would have on the relations of Australia with other countries.
Wireless Telegraph on Steamers. Sydney, Oct 29, The Daliy Telegraph correspondent dealing with the Monowai’s break-down, suggests that steamers should be fitted with wireless telegraphy apparatus which would bo of groat assistance in sign filing to eiher land stations or the searching vessels.
