It was followed to-day by a fierce cold westerly gale. At its height it blew 71 miles an hour. The city was enshrouded in clouds of dust, and the wind swept part of the Colony, in many cases accompanied with heavy rain, hail and snew. There has been considerable damage to crops and property.
