Saturday’s Eiccarton Training, Christchurch, October 26.

At Elccarton this morning there was a good number of spectators present to witness the work of Cup horses and others. The course was in capital order. Gleiogle alone did a good mile in 1 min 45 2 oth secs.

Glenaladale beat Windwhistle in_ a mile and half race in 2 mins 43 2-otli secs, the last mile being run in 1 min 48 secs.

Somerlcd did a strong mile with Goldenmere in 1 min 44 l-sth secs. Dundas had a smart gallop over six furlongs finishing in 1 min 17 2-5 secs.

Hermosa did five furlongs in 1 min 4 3-5 secs.

Kahuwai beat Sirius in a mile and a quarter race on the plough. The last nine furlongs were done in 2 mins 3A secs.

Battleaxe did two circuits, pulling hard all the time. The Cup favorite is in very good trim.

Palaver did a mile and a quarter in 2 miu 47 secs in a moving and taking fashion.

Djin Djin, Ideal, Canteen and Fulmen were associated in a mile and a quarter gallop. The former, who had the best of the weights, leading Canteen and Ideal in 2 mins 17 secs. Fulmen, who was last all the way, made up ground fast in the last quarter and did the last mile in 1 min 48 3-oth secs.

Blazer, Golds pur and Customary did five furlongs in 1 min 5 2-5 secs. Jabber and Okoari did six furlongs in 1 min 18 2-sth secs, the mare leading the other home.

Paphos and Reliance did seven furlongs in 1 min 35 i secs. After breakfast over twenty two-year olds exercised from the barrier straights over a half mile on the course proper.

Imperator, Helen, Faucet, Goldpurse, Step Dancer, Greek Maid, and Orlofl were prominent in the finishes.
