The Petitions Committee of the House reported on petitions from traders in Christchureh and Dunedin praying that Legislation might be passed to suppress the use of coupons in connection with the sale of tea in packets and packages. The Committee expressed the opinion that the Government should amend the Trading Stamps Abolition Act of last session so as to include the ccupon system of discounts except made iu cash is equitable or desirable in the interests of commercial morality.
