GREY AMATUER SWIMMING CLUB.
The Second Annual Meeting of the Greymoulh Amatuor Swimming Club was held at tho Gilmer Hotel last eveniug when there was a large attendance of members. Tire balance sheet was read and showed tire Club to have had a very successful financial season, notwitstanding the expense the Club had to go to in building a shed etc., they have managed to almost clear themselves of debt. During last season some of the Club'members made rapid improvements in their swimming, so much so, that during the coming season it is anticipated that the Grey Club will have members that will be able to hold their own with the majority of Now Zealand swimmers. The Captain, Mr J. M. Hamilton, represented the Club last year at the Now Zealand Championship meeting held in Christchurch, and came second in nearly all the New Zealand Championships for the year, breaking standard time in the events. During tho evening Mr McDonnell was presented with a gold modal for the support ho had given tho Club during tho past season.
It was resolved to hold the first sports meeting of tho the coming season on Christmas Day as last year, and it was suggested by the President that a boys Model Yacht race be introduced iqto the meeting.
The following are the officers elected fo the ensuing year:— President: C. 3?. A, Broad Esq.; VicePresidents; JDr Monaco senr., Dr Morrice junr., Messrs J. A. Eissenhardt, D. Campbell, J. W. Easson, Eev Stewart, T. Oxenham, J. T. Skoglund, A. R. Guinness, and P. M. , Griffin ; Captain: J. M. Hamilton; Vice-Captain :Mr F. Garth ; Secretary: Mr P. Easson ; Treasurer : Mr E. M'Donnell; Committee: Messrs M. Phillip*, M. Fogarty, P. Skoglund, J. Martin, P. Foot; Auditors : Messrs T. Oxenham and A. Smith. , Mr W. H. M. Bergh of Christchurch, was appointed delegate to represent the club at the New Zealand A mature Swimming Association at Christchurch. A vote o f thanks was accorded to the and the meeting terminated.
