DAYLIGHT GOLD DREDGING CO.
The following is the directors annual report just presented. Messrs Cutten Bros, were appointed engineers, and instructed to submit plans and specifications and estimates for tbs construction of a-suitable dredge. Contracts ware let for the machinery and boiler to the Southland Implement Company in the sum of £2,790. An engine was procured from Manning and Co., local agents for Marshall and Co., in the sum of £293, and the work has been done for some time.
Yours Directors regret that, owing to the dilatoriness of shareholders in paying up their calls on due dates, delivery or the machinery has not been completed. Referring to the largo amount of arrears (£1,845), as shown by the Balance Sheet, the present Directors wish to point out that 800 shares wore allotted to one in* dividual before they took office, and they have since been unable to find this individual to collect calls thereon.
The Daylight claim is on the Abaur* river, and prospected by Messrs Sligo, Ashby and Cowan, gave good prospects. The last clause in the Directors report is unique.
