Tho Chamber of Commerce is sending to tho Premier evidence taken from leading exporters relative to Federal tariff and its effect on New Zealand trade. They agree in opposing any retaliatory measures. Tho Chamber decided to ask Government to endeavour to arrange a reciprocal tariff with Australia so that New Zealand grain, produce, etc., could bo admitted free into Australia, coal and timber to be admitted free into New Zealand in return. It was also decided to recommend Government to subsidise vessels to open up new markets.
