THE BOER WAR.

[per PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.]

London, October 18. Breda and Field-Cornet Kruger were executed at Cradock. It is believed in Natal that Botha and a few followers broke through the British cordon and escaped north.

The troops are gradually surrounding Pongola Bosch, but small groups of Boers are able to elude the closest pursuit. Fighting occurred at the Twenty-Four Streams, Picquetberg district, on the 16th. Five British were killed, including a Captain of the 16th Lancers.

A latter message states that the raiders attacked the district troops at Picquetberg. Lieut-Colonel Wyndham sent two squadrons of Lancers to assist and compelled the Boers to retire with live casualties.
