THE ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION

Wellington, Oct. 18,

In connection with the forthcoming Antarctic expeditions, it has been decided to have meteorological observations taken in other parts of the world, contemporaneously with those taken in the frozen regions. The Government has received a 'communication on the subject from the Agent-General conveying a request that observations may be tiken on vessels trading to arid from the Colony, while the expeditions are in Antarctic regions. The -Marine Department will take steps in the matter.
