Grasspan negotiated the same distance in 52 secs.
Flagship covered a mile in 1 51. The following is the betting:—Caulfie d Cup—Wakeful has been consistently backed and still remains at 4 to 1. Hymettus is in good demand at 6 to 1. 1000 to 35 was taken about George Frederick. 4000 was taken about Caledonia who is now quoted at 1G to 1, 2000 was accepted about Grasspan who closed at 10 to 1. 11 to 1 against Bonnie Chiel 12 to 1 J uggler: The others are unaltered.
For the Melbourne Cup Revenue was heavily backed, £15,000 being secured about the stable companion of the Caulfield Cup favorite and be is now equal favorite with Australian Colors at 11 to 1. Hymettus and Haymaker are quoted at 14 to 1 each.
