WELLINGTON HARBOR IMPROVEMENTS.

Wellington, This Day,
Mr Ferguson, Engineer to the Welling, ton Harbor Board, as result of bis trip to England and America, has presented a comprehensive report on the dock question. Ho submits a plan of a concrete / graving dock with a maximum length of 650 feet, and width of 84 feet at the Caisson Stops, and a depth of 26| feet at low water. It is estimated that the cost would be £250,000,
He also being a tracing from Messrs Clark and Stanfield for one of their seif —propelling floating double-sided docks with a length of 430 feet clear, and a width o! 75 feet, capable of lifting a vessel of 10,000 tons dead weight, and draught of 25ft. The cost would be about £225.000.
Mr Ferguson indicates his preference for a concrete graving dock.
