•square milea in the Northern Territory, at an outlay of £670i000, and promises great results after the scheme has been in operation for six years.
Sydney, This Day. A Conference of gentlemen interested in horse breeding, discussed the developemont of the trade of army remounts, and adopted a resolution expressing the desirability of the Indian and Imperial Governments forming a special agency to purchase direct from breeders. Other resolutions favoured the taxing of stallions, and preventing the export of good mares, the holding of horse fairs with a view to maintaining high quality.
