London, October 15. Commandant Scbeepers was ill at the farmhouse at the time of the capture, and was removed in a critical condition to Majesfontein hospital. Two youths belonging to Letter s commando were sentenced to imprisonment during the continuance of the war. The British have occupied Pietretief.
The main portion of Botha’s force has retired into Bongola Posch.
Many evaded the British cordon in small parties. Bethel’s commando has escaped.
The rivers are flooded, mists are general, and the roads almost impassable. Eight more of Letter’s commando have been sentenced to imprisonment for life. Four squadrons of Colonial Irregular mounted troops are being raised at Capetown for three months’ service in the western provinces. \
Bombay, October 15. Seven hundred and fifty additional Boer prisoners wore landed hero to day.
