Frebert Scboeman, Letter’s lieutenant, has been executed. Kitchener confirmed the death sentence of Wolpaardt, another of Letter’s officers.
The violent newspaper agitation continues over Bullet’s appointment. The invitation to the Yeomanry to rc-enlist, is largely unnoticed owing to arrears of pay. Brodrick has ordered the training of fresh mounted contingents of regulars.
The South African Nows has voluntarily ceased publication owing to martial law.
