In the Caulfield Cup, Hyraettus is now favourite. After being backed to some extent lie left off at 10 to 1.
George Frederick has receded and 100 to 8 is freely offered against him. Nothing elso is supported. Caulfield Cup. 11 to 1 George Frederick. 12 to 1 Am pier, 14 to 1 Grasspan. 16 to 1 Wakeful. 20 to 1 Hymettus. 2,000 to 60 taken Combat. There is no alteration in the Derby or Melbourne Cup quotations.
Otaki Races.—Second Day.
Otaki, October 10. The following are the remaining results of the second clay of the Otaki races, which came to hand after we went to press yesterday: Railway Handicap—Ocean 1, Noiti 2, Velocity 3. Divs, £2 14s and 14s. Rangluru Welter —Hokio 1, Tokatui 2, Waitoa 3. Onutae was scratched. Won easily. Div, £2 14s. Electric Handicap Kohai 1, Klondykc 2. Only starters. Div, £1 11s.
The sum handled by the totalisator in ;he two days was £6,727.
