(OTJE PAULI AM BNTABY EX OUTER )
Fair Rent Bill. Wellington, This Day. It is not intended to proceed with the Part Rent Bill this session. The Minister of Lands stated in answer to Major Steward, that ho hid some doubt as to whether such a Bill would pass. He had been making some enquiries about it, and found that thoro would b, very little support for it. Too much tim had been wasted, that he did not care to annoy the House for a night or two over a Bill which would have no chance of passing, He would prefer, therefore, to let the matter stand over till the people were educated up to it, and he was sure that it would then bo passed int > law. The Judiciary. Mr Hanan is urging on the Minister of Justice the advisability of abolishing the District Courts of the Colony, and arranging for the judges of the Supreme Court to go on circuit. The member for Invercargill, who is a member of the legal professions, also wants to know whan the proposed Bill to provide for the compulsory superannuation of, judges at the age of sixty or sixty-five years will be introduced.
