Mr Cox, an experienced dredgemaster 'from Otago takes charge cf the Hau Haa dredge next week. This dredge is now in capital trim and just entering on to payable wash; with care and attention we may shortly expect to hear of good returns.
The Stafford-Waimea dredge is now almost completed, 'and the contractor expects to have her ready to start in two or three weeks. The contractor has made excellent work of putting the dredge together considering that a good deal of time was unavoidably lost through bad weather, and Mr Ritchie is also to be ■congratulated on the sound workmanship jpnt into the dredge.
Mr Benjamin Naylor formerly dredgemaster of the New River dredge who has been running the Hau Hau dredge for the past month has been appointed dredgemaster for the Totara Dredge and commences his duties shortly. Mr Nay. lor, who has had many year’s experience in the dredging line ia Otago, carries a first class certificate and has the best credentials for ability energy and sobriety.
