Grey Live Stock Market. Messrs G. W. Moss and Co report yesterday’s stock sales at Preston yards as follow : - The entry consisted of 100 prime heavy weight bullocks and heifers, 450 prime crossbred.-, ail of which were cleared at late ruling rates. We sold the following stock—
F,.t Cattle—On account of Mr M. Ryan, 7 prime handy weight bullocks from £S to £t) 7s GJ. On account of Mr John M’Gregor, 41 heavy weight bullocks from £9 5s to £l2.
■ Fat Sheep—On account of Mr John M’Gregor, 174 prime crossbreds at 20s 6d.
Messrs G. W. Moss and Co report holding a sale of draught horses from the Canterbury district, at Ashton’s Stables on Wednesday last, when the following prices were realised :—Mare, heavy draugh 6 \oar old, £lO ; 4 and 5 year old colts, £4O to £49.
Mark Sprot and Co. report their sale fit Prestoa Road yards yesterday. There was a large and representative attendance of buyers from all parts of the Coast and there was keen competition throughout the sales, all lines being cleared at full rates. The entry of beef consisted of 98 head, nearly all North Island cattle, of which wo disposed of 51 on account of Messrs Abraham and William?, prices ranging up to £lO 10s for prime maiden heifers, and £lO 7s Gd for prime handy weight steers. 42S North Island ewes and wethers were yarded, of which we disposed of 250 on account of above clients at 22s 31 to 20s 6d.
Store Cattle—A small yarding of mixed cattle were quitted on account of sundry clients at full market rates,

The Queensland Government has issued a prospectus of one million three hundred and seventy four thousand three per cent loan, at the fixed price 911 which was underwritten on the usual terms.

lii copper, there was much excitement in the market. Eleven thousand tons changed hands last week. On spot is quoted at £O3 ; three months, £153 ss. Lead, £l2 Is 3d. Hemp from Wellington, October and December shipment is £2O 7s 6d. At the leather sales prices were firmer ; best hides, 1/4A ; New Zealand basils, 1/-. Mutton of all sorts is unchanged. Lambs, prime Canterbury, 43d for fair average, including Dunedin. Southland, Wellington and Secondary Canterbury, I’d, New Zealand beef, ISO to 220 lbs, fair average quality, ox fores 2{jd, ox hinds unchanged.
