The financial statement shows the revenue for the past year to be £10,794,000, including £883,000 returned by the Commonwealth. The expenditure is £10,870,000. The estimated revenue for the current year is £11,004,000, including £2,200,000 from the Commonwealth. The expenditure is £10,893,000. Servant Girls’ Legislation. Melbourne, September 27. Servant girls have petitioned the State Parliament for legislation to improve their conditions.
Alien Immigration.
The Federal House rejected the amendment specifying alien races undar immigration restriction bill by 85 to 31.
