SOLD DREDGING.
As the Dockland* is now opening out in what is Considered good ground where few difficulties are expected to be met with, the results should be satisfactory to shareholders. The ground originally tested with excellent results lies some distance, further up the river, but the present workings are considered equally rich. .
Preliminary arrangements are being made for the erection of the El Dorado pontoons on Wbe banks of the Old Diggings claims.. The Bocklahds dredge was launched from a site beside the £1 ' Dorado claim, but that was not considered so favourable as the one lower down. The Mokoia, with the exception of the slight mishap, has put in very steady ' work, and seems likely to do so for a lengi by period. Dredgemaater' Grookston has some very good saving appliances erected on his vessel and appears to be saving most of the gold. Wider experience and a'steady noting of results, with careful testing of tailings will, however, we anticipate, give even better results. The Greenstone Three Mile dredge will not show up to its usual figure ibis week, , owing to the dam having been silted up 1 by the flood during last week. It will be Saturday before a full face is once again opened up. The Greenstone Junction dredge should yr’ show an improvement on previous returns having had a fair run, with the exception of a shift or two in the early part of the week when a little timber was met with. </ The Ruby Creek dredge was got down 1 to the mouth of the bye-wash on Wednesday. The dredge has now to go up the lagoon, a distance of 600 yards, before work can be commenced.
