London, Sept. 22. Twenty per cent of the Yeomanry have reinllstea lor service in South Africa. In a fight at Soutlieff, north of Vryburg on the 16th, five British were killed and twelve wounded.
The Boers are raiding the Upper Tngela, Fighting is reported at Axton Holmes. The Kimberley Treason Court has sentenced Marthenas, a Field-Comet, with the Campbell rebels to five years’ imprisonment, and Choice, an assiscant Field Cornet to three years.
London, Sept. 22. The Government do not consider it necessary to specially strengthen the forces in South Africa. Greater alertness and caution on the spot is required. There is an impression that Botha and De Wet are co-operating for an invasion of Natal. Botha has disinterred buried guns.
Wellington, This Day. News has been received that Lieut Freeth of the Sixth Contingent was slightly wounded near Wepener on 17th inst.
