Mr Frank Lawn having severed his connection with Messrs Thomas and Mcßeath, shortly intends taking up hiaresidence in Dunedin. Mr Lawn is a deservedly popular young man and has made hosts of friends during bis sojourn in Greymoutb. He has a nob baritone voice, and has been a very useful member of the Trinity Church Choir. / At the close of last night’s practice, Mr Lawn was made the recipient of a very handsome pair of gold sleeve links. The Vicar, on behalf of the Choir members, made the presentation and referred in eulogistic terms to Mr Lawn's obaraotec and his sterling worth as a Choir member and while regretting bis departure said that [Dunedin would afford him a wider scope for talents, and from bis own experience of the Dunedin folks he felt sure that Mr Lawn had a very happy time before him and he wished him every prosperity and success. Several of the Choir members endorsed the Yioar’s remarks and said bow sorry they would be to lose Mr Lawn.
Mr Lawn, who was taken completely by surprise, replied very feelingly and said he was undeserving of the kind re* marks made concerning him; be bad en. joyed very much his connection with the Choir and would be extremely sorry to leave his Greymouth friends. He thanked the members of the Choir very heartily for their prssent.
