THE BRUNNER HIGH TEA.
The “High Tea" held In the Wallsend Hall Brunner on Wednesday evening eclipsed all previous efforts and was gratifying to the ladies. Fonr sittings had to be arranged to aoeomodate the extraordinary number that were present. In lookinground the heavily laden tables previous to the doors being opened, one could not but be mystified with the varieties of trifles and delicacies, and the beautiful glassware... daintily filled with , flowers. The hall was decorated with Chinese lanterns, flags etc. After the. tables had been cleared a very lengthy and pleasing programme was S one through, the. following assisting:— (rs Parkinson, Misses Franklin (3), Watson, Rev. Mr York, Messrs F. Sweetman, Coop, and T. Franklin. iLShe proceedings were brought to a close by a most amusing farce “Your life’s in danger” the characters being well sustained by Misses E. Franklin, McDonald, and Magee, and Messrs Heslin, M. Johnston, and A. Franklin.
