A WOED OP WARNING. Good beer is frequently rendered unpalatable by dirty pumps and their con-, nections. Cleanliness is the great desideratum in placing beer before the British public, and haring this object in view the following is my modus operandi: After each cask of beer is drawn in my hotel the pump is taken to pieces, all joints broken, the fittings externally and internally immersed for 20 minutes in a strong solution of hot water and soda, and the parts carefully washed—-first in hot, afterwards in clean cold water.
