London, Sept. 10. The consensus of English opinion is that: the disloyal burghers in Pretoria have been heretofore the chief informants of the departure of trains. The plan of compelling them to accompany trains is likely to prove effective, similar to the German precedent in 1870. The Hamdelsblad, an Amsterdam journal, vehemently denounces the plan as a violation of international law, and says that it offers a precedent for the French and Russians in the event of war with Great Britain, protecting their ironcl ids by exposing British prisoners. Colonel Remington captured Hasdrock’s convoy and forty' wagons. He expelled De Wot and Steyn from Reitz.
