QUARTZ MINING RETURNS
(pee press association.) Reefton, September 8. The Consolidated Goldfields of New Zealand returns for August were : Progress mines, 1,9900~zs of gold from 1608 tons crushed. Golden Fleece, 700 ozs of gold from 1,352 tons crushed. Wealth of Nations, 408ozs of gold from 965 tons crushed. The totals are 8,0980zs of gold from 6,925 tons ; value, .£12,568. ■ [The Mines Eecord gives the Last Chanoe (Fleming and party) return for July as 21ozs Bdwts of retorted gold from 85 tons.]
