Nelson, Yesterday,

The new school of music built by the trustees of the school and the Harmonic Society was opened by- Lady Ranfurly last evening. There was a crowded audience present. The ode, composed by Mr HcrrLammer, principal of the school, to words by Mr J. W. Joynt, were sung by soloists and chorus and a classical concert rendered with great success. Starting a few years ago, the school now has assets of £5,000, of liability £2,000 low in interest and grants for diplomas certified by examiners of Royal College of Music and Royal Academy of Music of London. The new hall is a fine commodious building specially designed for concerts and classes.
