MAORI CREEK BALL.
{To the Editor.) S IE , —In reference to the report on the Dunganville Hospital Ball, we think it right that we should Jje heard on the subject. Our object in closing down at four o’clock was solely through the severe illness of Mr M'Kechnie, who was lying a few yards away from the ball; and that the only means of putting an end to the increasing hiliarity was in stopping the music, we thought it advisable to wind up the dance. Apart from that, eight hours is certainly a very fair night’s work, and was in reality more than they were entitled to at the figure agreed on. Again we could not see the force of having to wait the pleasure of the couple of young ladies who were evidently bent on keeping on at it. Hoping we have not encroached too much. —I am etc.,
Seabeook and Peeoxti.
