[Extract from Letter received with my Last Shipment of Beer.] ' ' are su ippi n S P er nrs ' ; steamer VV to your esteemed and valued order 12 hogsheads of our Special Export Beer, trusting il may reach you in good order and condition. We take this favorable opportunity of complimenting here to this high-class beer. To the average licensed victualler the price (£5 5s per hhd) may appear excessive, but bearing in mind that this brew* is made solely from the best and purest malt, with Kent (England) and Bavarian hops, which we may mention are the best procurable, it will be seen that our prico is'very moderate. Wc feel sure that the • reputation you have so wed established for a perfect glass of beer will be fully maintained by tho shipment." A WORD OP WARNING. Good beer is frequently rendered unpalatable by dirty pumps and their con- j ncctions. Cleanliness is the great desideratum in placing beer before thoj British public, and having this object in j view the following is my modus operandi:, After eacli cask of beer is drawn in my | hotel the pump is taken to pieces, all' joints broken, the fittings externally and internally immersed for 20 minutes in a strong solution of hot water and soda, ! and the parts carefully washed—tirst in hot, afterwards in clean cold water. Tho pump is then replaced in position and all connections made fur-tight. This " Special Export Brow" is now on tap, and I have pleasure in offering it to Connoissrurs of our National Beverage.
