To the average licensed victualler the price (£5 5s per hhd) may appear excessive, but bearing in mind that this brew is made solely from the best and purest malt, with Kent (England) and Bavarian hops, which we may mention are the best procurable, it will be seen that our price is very moderate. We feel sure that the reputation you have so well established for a perfect glass of beer will be fully maintained by the shipment." A WOED OF WARNING. Good beer is frequently rendered unpalatable by dirty pumps and their con- | nections. Cleanliness is the great desi-j deratum in placing beer before the British "public, and having this object in view the following is my modus operandi: j After each cask of beer is drawn in my J hotel the pump is taken to pieces, all j joints broken, the fittings externally and j internally immersed for 20 minutes in a j strong solution of hot water and soda, ! and the parts carefully washed—first in hot, afterwards in clean cold water. The pump is then replaced in position and all connections made uir-tight.
