By an advertisement in another column it will be seen that an extraordinary meeting of shareholders in the Waipuna Gold Dredging Company will be held at the Albion Hotel to-morrow evening at eight o'clock.

The " Fremdenblatt," the official organ of-the Austro-Hungarian Foreign Office devotes a leading article to the subject of American industrial competition. In the near future, it says, the European nations willl have to combine against the danger which threatens them, and sinking their differences, make a common front agaiast # 'The industrial aggression of America," continues the journal, "is forging an ring of defence among Continental countries to ward off the blows oj the American enemy." .The ' Fremdenblatt' speaks of 'Continental countries,'and appears to assume that England will not join an anti-American combination.
