Three British officers and 95 men on Elliott's right, northwards of Eadybrand were surrounded 1 on unfavourable pound and captured by a superior force, They were afterwards released. One was killed and four wounded during the action. An enquiry into the matter has been opened. The Daily Express correspondent states that 400 burghers surrendered at Middleburg. The Uniondale engagement was fought on difficult ground. Besides other losses, 10 Hussars were captured before Scheepers retreated. Beatson is dnviug Sheepers' force northwards.
Commandant Lotter's force has taken refuge on the summits of the Aehtersberg in the Sneeberg Kange, Cape Colony. Scobell is pursuing them. y He secured and shot 100 horses and fired the grass on tho slopes of the Achterberg. The invaders of Capo Colony have split into fragments.
